Product details

Where the sign belongs

Fix it above or beside the eye wash unit it marks, facing the area where a splash is most likely, so a person with impaired vision can still be guided to it by others. Keep the unit and the sign clear of stored goods and trolleys.

Size for the reading distance

A 225 x 300 mm panel suits a unit fixed at a bench in a small room. The 300 x 450 mm panel reads across a workshop bay or laboratory. The 400 x 600 mm panel is for plant rooms, yards and loading areas with long sight lines.

Material for the conditions

Polypropylene is the everyday indoor choice. Vinyl suits a smooth wall or cabinet door. Corflute is for temporary set-ups such as site sheds. Colorbond steel resists weather, wash-down and knocks in outdoor and industrial positions.

What the sign does not cover

The sign identifies the location only. The chemical hazards that call for an eye wash unit, and the unit's supply, testing and maintenance, are site responsibilities documented separately. A directional sign is needed if the unit cannot be seen from the work area.

Check the sign format before ordering

This printed sign marks the location of an emergency eye wash unit. The unit, its supply and its maintenance must be confirmed against the site risk assessment and the applicable requirements before ordering.

Before ordering

  • An eye wash unit is actually installed where the sign will be fixed.
  • The reviewed artwork with the pictogram, legend and rinse line matches the message the site needs.
  • The chosen size can be read from the furthest working position the unit serves.
  • The material suits the wall or post and the wet, chemical or outdoor exposure at that spot.
