Description
Fire Brigade Block Plans are permanent site-specific diagrams mounted at booster assemblies, detailing hydrant positions, building footprints, access routes, and isolation points. They're mandatory under AS 2419.1:2021 wherever a booster installation exists. Compliance demands durable, weather-sealed substrates — engraved Traffolite, stainless steel, or reverse-printed polycarbonate. Paper-based alternatives fail the standard's water and UV resistance criteria. Custom layouts are specified from your site plan; we produce A3 through A1 formats at scales up to 1:250. Platinum Signs handles the technical review and fabrication in-house. Trade accounts receive bulk-order pricing, and we deliver Australia-wide from Sydney. Lead times depend on site-plan complexity; contact our team for a binding quote.
Final sign type, wording, size, placement and material depend on the site risk, project specification and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with the relevant WHS adviser or regulator.

Frequently asked
What surfaces meet AS 2419.1 durability requirements?
Engraved Traffolite, marine-grade stainless steel, and reverse-printed polycarbonate all satisfy water, weather, and UV resistance. Laminated paper does not and is explicitly non-compliant.
Can I provide my own site plan?
Yes — email or upload your plan at checkout. Our team will confirm scale, hydrant/booster positions, and access routes before production.
What's the typical lead time for a custom block plan?
4–6 weeks from order, depending on site-plan clarity and material choice. Urgent requests can be expedited; contact sales for availability.
Do you offer bulk discounts for multi-site installations?
Volume-pricing examples are 5 signs: 8% off, 10 signs: 15% off, 25 signs: 24% off, 50 signs: 32% off, 100 signs: 40% off. Savings increase gradually between these quantities. The total increases as you add more signs, while the average price per sign falls or stays the same. The configurator calculates the total for your selected quantity.
What size should I choose for a large industrial site?
Available sizes are 450 x 600mm (Large), 600 x 900mm (Extra Large). Viewing-distance notes are a practical selection aid, not a substitute for checking the approach distance, lighting, mounting position, wording and site risk assessment.
