Description
This water-type fire extinguisher sign meets AS 1319 requirements and uses the distinctive red panel specified in AS 1841 for immediate recognition during emergencies. Designed for Class A fires only (wood, paper, textiles), it must be mounted directly above the extinguisher per AS 2444 standards. Available in four materials—corflute, polypropylene, colorbond, and vinyl—in sizes from 225×300 mm through 600×900 mm. Colorbond offers non-combustible durability for high-risk areas; polypropylene suits indoor installations on a budget. All prints use fade-resistant inks. Platinum Signs supplies trade accounts with volume discounts and Australia-wide delivery. Customisation options include pre-drilled holes, lamination, and reflective upgrades (Class 1 or 2) for low-light visibility.
Final sign type, wording, size, placement and material depend on the site risk, project specification and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with the relevant WHS adviser or regulator.

Frequently asked
Is this sign suitable for electrical fires?
No. This sign identifies water-type extinguishers for Class A fires only (wood, paper, textiles). Water conducts electricity and is unsafe for electrical fires; use Type C or ABC-rated equipment instead.
What's the difference between colorbond and polypropylene for fire signs?
Colorbond is non-combustible aluminium composite, ideal for high-risk or outdoor environments. Polypropylene is lightweight and cost-effective for indoor areas but less fire-resistant. Both use fade-resistant inks.
Can I add reflective coating to this sign?
Reflective grades provide different visibility performance. Choose the grade required by the project specification and site conditions, and confirm any road, traffic or high-risk requirement with the relevant authority before ordering.
Do you offer bulk discounts for multiple fire signs?
Volume-pricing examples are 5 signs: 8% off, 10 signs: 15% off, 25 signs: 24% off, 50 signs: 32% off, 100 signs: 40% off. Savings increase gradually between these quantities. The total increases as you add more signs, while the average price per sign falls or stays the same. The configurator calculates the total for your selected quantity.
What sizes are available?
Available sizes are 225 x 300,300mm. Viewing-distance notes are a practical selection aid, not a substitute for checking the approach distance, lighting, mounting position, wording and site risk assessment.
