Description
Use this U-Turn Permitted sign where an approved traffic design or private-site traffic plan specifies the R2-15 instruction. The portrait face has a large black U above the exact black legend TURN PERMITTED, with a black rounded border on a white field. It has no curved-arrow pictogram, signal symbol, operating time, vehicle exception or supplementary panel. The verified sellable faces are 450 × 600 mm R2-15(A) and 600 × 800 mm R2-15(B), both in 1.6 mm aluminium. The base prices are non-reflective. Class 400 reflective sheeting is available through the optional reflective selection. The Transport for NSW R2-15 drawing uses the same sizes and specifies a Class 400 white reflectorised ground for its road-sign construction, so a non-reflective base face must not be treated as an equivalent public-road specification. The installed instruction depends on more than the printed face. Confirm the jurisdiction, signal phase, turning path, median and right-turn-lane arrangement, available sight distance, pedestrian movements and conflicts with opposing traffic.
