Council Street Flags — Printed & Sewn In-House

Council street flags (also known as pole banners, lamp post flags or main-street flags) are vertical banner flags designed to hang from council-managed light poles, lamp poles and decorative street posts. They're the default format for main-street identity programs, civic precinct campaigns, event routes, sports-precinct signage and seasonal public-domain activations. Platinum Signs prints every council street flag at our own facility on 140gsm Trilobal polyester with European wide-format dye-sublimation printers — built for Australian UV, wind and salt air.

Two Standard Sizes

Designed to match the most common Australian council bracket specifications:

• Small (1000 × 3000mm): 1000 × 3000mm — standard main-street & lamp-pole profile.
• Large (1500 × 4500mm): 1500 × 4500mm — premium civic & arterial-road profile.

Single vs Double-Sided — Which Do You Need?

Single-sided flags are dye-sublimation printed on a single sheet of 140gsm Trilobal polyester. The ink bleeds partially through, so the reverse reads as a faded mirror image. Single-sided is the default for most council programs — cost-effective, fast to produce, and the flag is usually viewed from one primary traffic direction.

Double-sided flags are two separate blockout prints sewn back-to-back with a light-blocking layer between. Both sides read correctly at full colour vibrancy. Choose double-sided for civic precincts, pedestrian zones, and two-way arterial roads where both faces will be seen up close or from both traffic directions.

Pole Bracket Kit Options

• No brackets (supply flag only): Use your council's existing permanent pole bracket hardware. Most established main-street programs already have arms installed — just order replacement or new-campaign flags sized to match.
• Single-sided pole bracket kit: One bracket arm + pole clamp + flag fittings per flag. Suits one-way streets, single-face pole presentations or pilot programs where you're not covering both traffic directions.
• Double-sided pole bracket kit: Two bracket arms on opposite faces of the pole so two flags hang back-to-back. Default for two-way main streets — each direction of traffic sees a correctly-reading flag.
