Sydney project · Reception and door signage package

A set of 3D reception letters and a printed front-door window.

GEMCON's Sydney office needed a reception wall that carries the brand the moment you walk in, and a front door that reads the company name and suite from the corridor. The package pairs a run of white 3D reception letters with a painted logo icon and a digitally printed front-door window graphic — surveyed, built in our own workshop and installed to the plaster wall and glazed entry.

The project in detail

Three photographs across the finished GEMCON entry and the workshop build — the 3D letters installed on the reception wall, the same white letters and painted icon before install, and the digitally printed graphic on the glazed front door.

Photographs are of GEMCON's own signage. The contact line printed on the door is GEMCON's published business detail, shown here only as it appears on the installed graphic.

Project at a glance

3D reception letters and a printed front-door window.

This was one office entry with two distinct pieces of work in it. Each element sits on a different surface, carries the brand a different way and has its own fixing and finish decisions.

White 3D reception letters

The GEMCON name reads across the reception wall as solid dimensional letters cut from 10 mm sheet, finished white with a painted blue logo icon, so the mark stands proud of the textured plaster with a clean edge and a soft shadow.

A painted logo icon

The angular G icon is built as its own dimensional piece and painted in the brand blue, sitting alongside the white wordmark so the lock-up matches the corporate identity rather than a flat printed version.

A printed door window graphic

The glazed front door carries a digitally printed cut-out graphic with the logo, suite and contact line, applied to the outside of the glass so the entry is identified from the corridor without closing the reception off behind it.

How it came together

Measure the wall and the door, then build to what is there.

A textured plaster reception wall and a glazed entry door set the constraints before anything is drawn: the wall width, the sightline from the door and the glazed panel size are all fixed. The job worked from a site survey through approved artwork to a staged install.

Read the four delivery stages
  1. 1

    Survey the entry

The reception wall, the glazed door panel and the approach from the corridor were measured and photographed so the letter run and the window graphic could be set to the real entry rather than to a drawing.

  2. 2

    Approve the artwork

The 3D letter lock-up, the painted icon colour and the door graphic were mocked up to scale and signed off before any material was cut, so the letter size, the icon colour and the door layout were agreed together.

  3. 3

    Build it in our workshop

The letters and the icon were cut from 10 mm sheet and finished — white letters with the icon painted in the brand blue — and the door graphic was digitally printed on adhesive vinyl with a matte laminate, all built in our own workshop.

  4. 4

    Install to wall and glass

The 3D letters and icon were set out and fixed to the plaster with double-sided tape and silicone, and the printed cut-out graphic was applied to the outside of the glazed door on site.

Project anatomy

Dimensional letters, a painted icon and a printed window.

An office-entry package like this pulls two material decisions together — dimensional letters that carry the name in the round, and a printed film that turns the glazed door into a clear identifier.

Material decision

Why dimensional letters for the reception wall?

A reception wall is the first thing a visitor reads, so the brand earns its position by standing proud of the surface rather than sitting flat on it. Building the name as solid 10 mm letters with a separately painted icon gives the wordmark real depth, a clean edge and a soft shadow on the textured plaster — a presence a printed decal cannot match.

Letter depth, fixing method and icon colour should be set against each wall finish and lighting condition rather than carried across from this project.

Pricing context

What shapes the price of an office signage package?

Packages like this are quoted line by line against the surveyed entry. We explain the cost drivers without publishing GEMCON's commercial terms.

  • Letter size, depth and finish, and whether the icon is painted or printed
  • How the letters are fixed and the wall finish they mount to
  • Printed graphic area, film type and how much of the glazing is covered
  • Site access, the number of separate visits and any out-of-hours install

Send photographs of the reception wall and entry door, approximate dimensions and vector artwork for a current indication. Final pricing follows the confirmed survey.

Sydney proof · National capability

One Sydney office entry, repeatable across a property portfolio.

This case study documents a single GEMCON office in Sydney. For a business fitting out several offices or display suites, Platinum Signs can hold one approved letter, icon and door-graphic standard across the portfolio while surveying each entry for wall finish, glazing size and install access.

  • One approved letter, icon and door-graphic standard
  • Entry-by-entry survey of wall finish and glazing
  • Coordinated production, staging and installation

Prepare a useful brief

What to send for an office signage package.

A clear first brief lets the team assess sign type, finish, fixing and install sequencing before confirming scope and price.

Read the four-point quoting checklist
  1. 1

    Photographs of the entry

Include the reception wall, the entry door and the approach from the corridor, with enough context to see the wall finish and the glazed panel size.

  2. 2

    Signs and sizes

Note which elements you want — reception letters, a painted icon, door graphics — and any approximate sizes or positions you already have in mind.

  3. 3

    Vector artwork

Supply the approved logo files, brand colours and any guidance on the lock-up, spacing or minimum sizes.

  4. 4

    Access and timing

Confirm building and corridor access, any tenancy or landlord requirements, permitted install hours and whether any existing signage must come down first.
