Aluminium Signs — Printed & Cut In-House
For signage that demands a premium, heavy-duty finish, solid aluminium panels are the step up from ACM. Unlike composite panels, these are a single piece of white aluminium available in 1.2mm, 1.6mm, and 2mm thicknesses — providing superior rigidity, corrosion resistance, and a professional weight that customers associate with quality.
We UV direct print your design onto the white aluminium surface using our high-resolution flatbed printer, delivering vibrant, full-colour graphics with sharp detail. Every panel is CNC router cut to your exact specifications, from 100mm x 100mm up to a full sheet at 2400mm x 1200mm.
Material: Solid white aluminium panel (single piece, no composite core)
Thickness: 1.2mm, 1.6mm, or 2mm
Printing: UV direct print — full colour, photo-quality resolution
Lamination: Not available — the aluminium surface provides natural durability
Cutting: CNC router cut to size; custom contour shapes available
Mounting: Pre-drilled holes, standoffs, or adhesive tape options
Production: Standard 5 business days to dispatch after artwork approval
Durability: 5–7 year outdoor lifespan with UV printing
Where Aluminium Signage Works Best
Solid aluminium panels are the premium choice for high-end shopfront facades, corporate lobbies, building identification, wayfinding systems, and any application where the weight and feel of the sign matters. The solid metal construction gives a satisfying heft and rigidity that composite panels cannot match.

ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) consists of two thin aluminium sheets bonded to a polyethylene core, creating a lightweight 3mm panel. Solid aluminium panels are a single piece of aluminium — heavier and more rigid, available in 1.2mm, 1.6mm, and 2mm thicknesses. Solid aluminium is more durable and premium but does not support lamination.
Solid aluminium signs with UV direct printing typically last 5–7 years outdoors. The aluminium substrate itself is highly corrosion-resistant and can last decades. Note that lamination is not available for solid aluminium panels.
Our maximum single panel size is 2400mm x 1200mm (a full sheet). For larger signs, we can produce multi-panel installations that are joined on-site for a seamless look. Contact us for custom large-format solutions.
UV direct printing is applied to the front face only. Aluminium signs are single sided.
We accept PDF, AI, EPS, SVG, PSD, TIFF, and high-resolution JPEG/PNG files. For best results, supply vector artwork at actual size with 3mm bleed. If you need design help, select one of our design packages in the calculator above.
Yes, we offer professional installation services in Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra metro areas. Contact us for a separate installation quote. We also supply pre-drilled holes and mounting hardware for self-installation.
1.2mm is suitable for smaller indoor signs and lightweight applications. 1.6mm is a great all-rounder for both indoor and outdoor use. 2mm provides maximum rigidity and is recommended for larger outdoor panels, construction signage, wayfinding signs, and high-traffic areas exposed to wind loading.
Minimum print size is 100mm x 100mm. For smaller labels or asset tags, see our asset labels or custom label rolls — purpose-built for smaller formats with stronger adhesives. Aluminium below 100mm is uneconomical compared to other substrates.
Standard production is 5 business days from artwork approval to dispatch. Next-day and same-day rush options are available at checkout for urgent jobs — often used for compliance signage required before site handover. Delivery time is additional on top of production.
Yes. Sydney metro runs through our Go Logistics courier (same-day or next-day). Interstate orders ship via Transdirect with live tracking — solid aluminium is heavier than ACM, so freight is a larger cost component on large panels. Delivered Australia-wide.
Yes. Our UV flatbed press achieves 95%+ Pantone coverage on aluminium. Supply your Pantone number or brand-guide reference and we'll colour-match during pre-press. For critical colour work (regulatory signs, rebrand launches), a printed proof on actual aluminium can be supplied for sign-off before production.
Yes. For shapes above 3mm we use our precision CNC router (3078 x 1563mm bed). For under 3mm we fiber-laser cut on our 2kW bed (3000 x 1500mm). Both produce clean edges — laser-cut aluminium may need de-burring for safety depending on thickness. Supply vector cut paths in your artwork file.
Yes — 2mm aluminium is the standard substrate for regulatory traffic, parking, and wayfinding signs in Australia. We produce Class 1 (engineering grade) and Class 1W (diamond grade) reflective-vinyl overlays compliant with AS 1742 for high-speed road applications. For low-speed car parks and strata, standard non-reflective prints work.
All aluminium signs come with a 12-month warranty covering print fade, delamination, and manufacturing defects when used as intended. The aluminium substrate itself lasts 10+ years outdoors. Print life depends on installation environment — coastal salt-spray or high-UV locations benefit from specifying UV-stabilised inks at order.
Yes. Trade accounts are available for signage resellers, construction firms, WHS consultants, councils placing tender responses, and real estate agencies ordering repeat boards. Email info@platinumsigns.com.au with your ABN and expected volume for tiered pricing + dedicated account management.
