SEG Lightbox vs Other Lightbox Types

- vs acrylic-faced lightbox: SEG is lighter, ships flat, and graphics swap in seconds without removing the frame. Acrylic gives a slightly sharper face but requires re-printing the face panel to change artwork.
- vs vinyl banner: SEG is backlit; a PVC banner is not. SEG has a premium wrinkle-free finish. Vinyl banners are cheaper for short-term outdoor use, but SEG is the grown-up indoor choice.
- vs pull-up banner: Pull-ups are a 60-second solo-carry option but the graphic sags and the form factor is narrow. SEG lightboxes are wider, backlit and feel permanent.
- vs Slimline LED Lightbox: Our Slimline LED Lightbox is acrylic-faced, snap-frame, fixed A0 size, edge-lit. Choose Slimline for cinema-style poster displays, SEG for modular exhibition builds.

Production & Delivery Australia-Wide
Standard production is 5–7 business days from artwork approval for 1–5 units. Larger quantities step to 7–10 business days (6–15 units), 10–14 business days (16–30 units), and 3–4 weeks for fleet orders of 30+ units. Express production is available on request at an additional fee — typically halving the lead time for small-quantity orders when frames are in stock.
Fabric lightbox displays are palletised for freight: frames crated flat, fabric rolled, electronics foam-lined. Standard freight is $85 inc GST flat to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Hobart, Darwin, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Central Coast, Wollongong, Geelong, Cairns, Townsville and most regional centres, 5–7 business days transit. Free standard freight on orders over $2,500 inc GST. Express freight is approximately $136 for 2–3 day transit to capital cities. Pickup from our Botany NSW facility (near Sydney Airport and Port Botany) is available on all orders.
Artwork Guidelines & File Preparation
Supply print-ready files as PDF, AI, EPS, SVG, TIFF or 300dpi JPEG/PNG. Vector is always preferred — SEG lightboxes are large-format and raster files must be provided at high resolution to avoid softness under LED backlight. Download the size-specific template from this page — each template has the correct aspect ratio, a 20mm bleed, and marks the 13mm silicon-edge wrap area (the outer perimeter that hides into the frame channel and is not visible). Colours should be set up in CMYK; dark saturated backgrounds work especially well under LED backlight (whites and pastels can appear slightly washed out against the LED brightness, but we'll advise during proofing).
Typography under 14pt and hairline strokes under 0.5pt should be vectorised or outlined — rasterising them at large scale can soften edges. For double-sided displays, supply two separate artwork files (front + back) unless both sides are identical. We proof every job before print with a soft-proof PDF for your sign-off.
If you don't have print-ready artwork, choose a design assistance package at checkout: Simple ($50) for a single-logo layout with supplied copy, Medium ($100) for a custom layout with sourced imagery, or Complex ($150) for a fully bespoke brand-matched design with revisions. For fleet orders with multiple designs, each extra artwork adds a small $15 file-prep surcharge.
Materials & Build Quality
SignWeave polyester fabric: 260gsm knit-back polyester with a crease-resistant finish and a built-in fire rating suitable for commercial indoor use. Dye-sublimation inks are heat-set into the fibres at 200°C, producing colour that is part of the fabric rather than a surface coating — no peeling, no cracking, no fade under normal indoor LED backlight.
Aluminium extrusion: 50 × 50mm clear-anodised aluminium SEG profile with a 4.5mm silicon-edge channel on the interior face. Anodising depth is 15 microns (commercial architectural grade), resistant to corrosion, scratching and handling marks.
LED engine: 5050 SMD LED modules at 24V DC, pre-mounted on PCB strips inside the extrusion. Lumen output 2400 lm/m, colour rendering index (CRI) 80+, 50,000-hour rated life. Operating temperature range 0–40°C — strictly indoor use. Flicker-free PWM-free driver for photography and video-set compatibility.
Silicon edge (SEG): 13 × 3mm extruded silicon rubber gasket sewn into the fabric perimeter. Slots into the frame channel and holds the fabric under even tension for a wrinkle-free face. Tool-free removal and re-insertion — you can swap the graphic on a 2m × 2m frame in under three minutes.
